Event description
All people should feel safe and included when playing sport; sporting organisations need to be inclusive of trans and gender diverse people.

About this event

All people should feel safe and included when playing sport and sporting organisations need to be inclusive of trans and gender diverse people. This webinar will explain how to apply the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission’s Guideline on Trans and Gender Diversity in Sport (the Guideline).

The Guideline examines the rights of trans and gender diverse people, and the obligations on sporting organisations to uphold those rights. It will look at how to promote respectful interaction between athletes, coaches, volunteers and spectators when engaging with trans and gender diverse people.

The webinar will

  • explain importance of trans and gender diverse inclusion in sport
  • clarify the rights and duties outlined in the Commission’s Guideline for sporting organisations
  • discuss constructive action that sporting organisations can take to be more inclusive.
