About this Event

LEt's Talk About...Supporting wellbeing and resilience

The MHCSA, with support from the Office of the Chief Psychiatrist, is pleased to offer free training for people who provide line management supervision to mental health Lived Experience (Peer) Workers - or whose organisation is supporting them towards a role in which they will. We welcome leaders from both the NGO and Government mental health sectors in SA.

In our previous sessions this year, we have explored the knowledge and skills required for people to be effective mental health Lived Experience (Peer) Workers and how recruitment processes can ensure organisations get the right person for the role.

Part of the lived experience skill set and a key responsibility of Lived Experience Workers, is self-management of our wellbeing.

Workplace mental health is a rapidly growing area and there are a number of training programs on offer to support this. But the work of individuals and the workplace shouldn't end when the trainers leave the building.

In this session, we will focus on the strengths and skills Lived Experience Workers have in managing their wellbeing and think about ways this expertise could be helpful in supporting the wellbeing and mental health of all staff and the workplace.

Note: this session will be conducted face-to-face in line with current COVID-19 safe practices.

Session Details:

  • Tuesday August 18th
  • 12.30-3pm
  • Marjorie Black Community Room, enter rear of SACOSS: 47 King William Rd, Unley (on street parking available, please note any time limits)
