Let's Talk About...Supervision of Lived Experience Workforce
MHCSA, with support from the Office of the Chief Psychiatrist, is pleased to offer free training for people who directly supervise mental health Lived Experience/Peer Workers - or who are working towards a role in which they will. We welcome leaders from both the NGO and Government sectors. This training is non-accredited and based on needs identified by Managers and Leaders through the 2015 LEWP Training Needs Analysis, as part of the CALHN Evaluation of the Lived Experience Workforce (2014) and the SA Health Lived Experience Workforce Project Management Consultation (2012). Sessions have been co-produced by Lived Experience Workers and Leaders of Lived Experience Workforce.
This session will focus on the Supervision needs of people employed in roles in which their Lived Experience skill set is an essential criteria. We will look at current workplace supervision practice (e.g. Line Management Supervision) and explore the key elements required to effectively supervise the unique Lived Experience skill set.
