Event description
Based on the latest Australian Standard AS 1742 series and Queensland Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).

About this event

Based on the latest Australian Standard AS 1742 series and Queensland Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) this interactive workshop comprehensively covers the function, and importance of road signs and line markings. The Department of Transport and Main Roads is adopting Australian Standard AS1742 series as part of national harmonisation. Harmonisation of the Queensland MUTCD will affect all users of the MUTCD including Transport and Main Roads Regions/Districts, Local Government Authorities, Contractors and Consultants. All users will need to refer to both the Queensland MUTCD and the Australian Standard. This one-day technical training provides professionals with the knowledge and skills to select appropriate signs or line markings and their locations consistent with current guidance on Australian roads. Having the appropriate signs and line markings ensures the safety of road users and assists with introduction of autonomous vehicles.
