Event Details

Employability means ensuring learners across their life-span are prepared for engaged citizenship and to find and cre-ate meaningful work.  But work and society are changing rapidly.  Much has been achieved in employability and work-integrated learning - but more remains to be done.

The Round-Table in November 2019 brought together thought leaders who drafted a Statement of Intent for a National Strategy to evolve Australia’s education ecosystem to accommodate industry needs, promote social cohesion and enable professionals and citizens across the lifespan – regardless of their place or starting point.

Our keynote speakers are:
Stephen Parker - National Education Sector Lead, KPMG
Peter Strong - CEO, Council of Small Business of Australia
Elizabeth Stone -  Principal, Queenwood School for Girls, Sydney
Prof Sandra Milligan - Director, Assessment Research Centre, Uni of Melbourne
Craig Robinson - CEO, TAFE Directors Australia
Dudley Collinson - CIO, Universities Admissions Centre
Prof Sally Kift - President, Australian Learning and Teaching Fellows
Anthony McClaran - CEO, TEQSA
Dom English - Group Manager, Department of Education, Skills and Employment
Kadi Taylor - Head Strategic Engagement and Government Relations, Navitas
Pat O’Reilly - Principal, Southern Cross Catholic Vocational College

Together we will explore some of the components underpinning the Joint Statement of Intent:
- A National Lifelong Education/Learning Strategy
- Employee / Professional Credentialling and CPD/CPE
- Work-Integrated Learning (WIL)
- Technology Platforms and Standards supporting Credential Management

This FREE event will progress our Initiative to create and drive the development of a National Lifelong Learning Strategy by combining thought leadership across networks to create a better education system for a fair, equitable and prosperous Australia.  Download the draft programme here.
