Description

Towards a Culture of Wellness & Reablement Workshop 4: Embedding Wellness & Reablement Practice Across Your Organisation

Wellness and reablement philosophy and practice is now a key foundation stone of support provision in the aged and disability sectors. The approach requires a clear understanding of the concepts of, and difference between, wellness and reablement; and recognition of how it influences many aspects of an organisation’s and program’s operations from policy to marketing and the practice by all staff. Preparation of a Wellness and Reablement Action Plan (WARAP) can also be a very useful guide to embedding the approach in the workplace.

This workshop facilitated by Glen Sorenson covers the essential ingredients of what it takes to embed enabling practice across all aspects of an organisation and its support programs. It also outlines how to develop and implement a Wellness and Reablement Action Plan (WARAP).

At the end of the session you will:

• Accurately describe the wellness and reablement approach, including the differentiation between the two terms

• Identify what is needed to successfully embed wellness and reablement practice across an organisation or program

• Identify what needs to be addressed within your organisations and programs to successfully showcase a commitment to, and expertise in wellness and reablement

• Develop a Wellness and Reablement Action Plan using the provided tools

• Monitor the embedding of wellness and reablement practice across your organisation

Participants will also receive a handbook containing checklists, hints and tools for developing a plan and monitoring progress, as well as information about options for outcome measurement.
