Description

Tour the Museum of Human Disease and explore their collection of diseased human specimens demonstrating hundreds of diseases and their complications. Diseases represented include HIV/AIDs, cancer, stroke, heart attack, diabetes, genetic diseases and the effects of drugs.

Some specimens illustrate the effects of diseases such as typhoid and diphtheria which are now quite rare in Australia due to vaccination and public health programs, while others illustrate the impact of unhealthy lifestyle factors with exhibits on smoking, obesity, alcohol, drugs and mental health.

TOUR LENGTH

20 minutes. Attendees are welcome to continue to explore the museum after the tour.
