Torchlight Wildlife Walk
Overview
Explore the beautiful Garden under the mysterious cloak of darkness and visit some of the wildlife that call it home.
After a short presentation or torchlight games for kids, the group will head off around the Garden to see what nighttime wildlife can be spotted.
Animals that may be encountered include Tawny Frogmouths, Possums, Eastern Dwarf Tree Frogs, and a whole bunch of mini beasts, including the bizarre Glass Shrimps or the Giant Water Spiders.
The experienced guides will share their knowledge on the plants and animals that call the Garden home.
Participants must be a minimum of 5 years old
Guests can bring a torch and wear enclosed flat walking shoes and dress for cool temperatures and mosquito protection. Torches will be made safe for animals with red cellophane.
All participants including supervising parents must purchase a ticket. The walk will only go ahead if ticket sales have reached minimum numbers of 10.
If unsafe weather is forecast, the event will be cancelled by 12pm on the day of the walk. Registered participants will be notified by email or phone.
Tickets are non-transferrable. If you no longer need your ticket, please contact the Garden to arrange a refund.
The garden is closed to cars at night. Street parking is available on Northfields Avenue in Keiraville and pedestrians enter through the administration car park gate. All other garden gates will be locked during the walk.
