Torchlight Wildlife Walk
Overview
Explore our beautiful Garden under the mysterious cloak of darkness and meet some of the wildlife that call us home.
After a short Animal Life Presentation or torchlight games for kids, we will head off to explore various areas of the Garden to see who we can spot.
Animals that may be encountered include Tawny Frogmouths, Possums, Eastern Dwarf Tree Frogs, and a whole bunch of mini beasts, including the bizarre glass shrimps and slightly scary Giant Water Spider.
Your guides have many years of experience and a wealth of knowledge on the plants and animals that call the Garden home.
This walk is most suitable for participants aged 5 years and older
Please bring a torch and wear confortable walking shoes and dress for the cool temperatures. Torches will be made safe for animals with red cellophane before heading out.
The Botanic Garden becomes a place of magic as the night falls and even if we don’t see many of its hidden animals, the experience of walking through it at night is one you will never forget.
Minimum participants: 10
We will cancel the walk by 5pm the day before if minimum participants are not registered. If poor weather occurs, the decision to cancel will be made by 12pm on the day of the walk. In both circumstances, registered participants will be notified by email or phone.
Tickets are non-transferrable. If you no longer need your ticket, please contact us to arrange a refund.
Parking will be available at the Garden's small Administration located at 61 Northfields Avenue or along Northfields Avenue in Keiraville. All other garden gates will be locked during the walk.
