Toilet Learning Workshop: A Child-Oriented Approach
Tue. 13 December 2016, 6:45 pm – 8:45 pm AEDT
EVENT is FULLY BOOKED!
Please contact us to be placed on the waitlist for the next Toileting event early 2017.
Toilet learning differs from Toilet training. Child toilet training is something that is adult directed; toilet learning is when the child is involved in their own learning. Toilet training may involve a time pressure on your child which seems to be a quick fix but may have consequences.
In this intensive workshop you will learn…
About the Sensitive Period for toileting and the physiological process
How to determine when to begin toileting with your child
To set up an appropriate environment and what is needed
How to communicate with your child to avoid power struggles
How to foster independence for your child so he or she can “own” the process, a key motivating principle for mastery
How to ‘normalise’ the process to reduce stress for parent and child including why rewards and ‘praise’ can actual hinder and cause regression in the process
This workshop is open to all parents all over Sydney who want some support and guidance on how best to help their little one.
