We are delighted to announce that newcomer TJ Patrick will be taking to the stage at Melbourne’s Some Velvet Morning on Sunday October 30 for an intimate night of music. Adding to this wonderful night, all proceeds will go towards YGAP’s Polished Man campaign.
This year, TJ Patrick has teamed up with YGAP as an ambassador for their Polished Man campaign, a charity that challenges men to end violence against children. This innovative campaign asks men to paint one nail during October to raise awareness and funds to support the 1 in 5 children who suffer physical and/or sexual violence before the age of 18.
“I’m thrilled to be involved as an ambassador for this wonderful charity. They are really making a difference,” He says. “The issue of violence against children is so important and I’m excited to use my music to raise money and bring awareness to this issue in our community.”
TJ has spent recent times as both an Osteopath and a pop music writer; working with multi-platinum, Aria award winning producer One Above (Hilltop Hoods, Illy). However, driven by a love for Americana and folk music he recently decided to take some time off and travel to the south of America, where he would craft a collection of songs.
“It was a time of self-discovery, both personally and musically. I began to learn what suited my voice and embrace who I really am,” he says. “For the first time music was about writing from the heart, not just from the pen.”
Joining TJ Patrick at Some Velvet Morning will be Lawrence Henry from the band July Days.
