Born and raised in the countryside of São Paulo state, Brazil, Tide (Alcides Neto) is a Melbourne based composer, guitarist, percussionist and singer. Since arriving in Australia five years ago, he has been connecting with diverse artists and professionals across Melbourne’s arts scene. Inspired by folk music from his home country, Tide aims to present his perspective of Brazilian music, mixing traditional styles with experimental sounds from percussive instruments to animal calls. Tide is noted by his distinctive percussive style of playing guitar, melding fingerstyle and articulate strumming techniques to achieve a dynamic, delicate and varied sound. The result is an organic and authentic mix of Brazilian music.
If you are unable to attend please email the venue directly on openstudiovenue@gmail.com so we can release seats in advance.
