You are warmly invited to a Tibetan Cultural Evening in support of Kyegu Monastery, Kamrao, Himachal Pradesh, India.
This is our one event of the year to try and support a group of about 30 young monks living in Northern India. It's a Tibetan Buddhist monastery but half of them are around 10 years old and have come out after the earthquake in Nepal.
Where they are in Kamrao is very remote in the Himalayan foothills. They spend their days learning peace and love, as well as all their other basic schooling. The facilities are run on a shoestring budget and they rely primarily on support from us in Australia.
So to help them and celebrate our community in Sydney, there will be singing and dancing from Tibet, Nepal, India and Australia, and a very special event featuring Snow Lion and Yak dancing performed by the monks of Kyegu monastery.
There will also be a live auction and raffle of precious items.
Catering for this event is provided by a professional Tibetan chef, Lonsong Nyima, who has cooked for the Dharamsala Parliament.
Tickets will also be available on the door on the night.
