Thursday Afternoon Painting (Mixed Media) for Adults - Term 4 2025

This course will take you on a journey that will leave you with the knowledge and confidence needed to create your own masterpiece.

Over the course of 8 weeks, you will be guided through an exploration of brushes, palette knives, mediums and styles - you will be given the knowledge and techniques needed to paint like an expert on, not just canvas, but a range of wonderful surfaces.

Dates: Thursday 16 October to 4 December 2025

Time:12:45 pm - 3:15 pm

Materials required:

• Apron
• Purchase an Art Studios Materials Add-On or bring your own materials

Bookings are essential and numbers are strictly limited.

We have minimum numbers for some classes and may need to cancel prior to the beginning of term if we don’t have enough enrolments.

Art Materials List

• A surface to paint on
• A5 and or A4 Pad of Wash and Draw Paper
• A Note book/paper if you like to sketch out your ideas
• A Canvas of your choice of size
• Or an alternative surface you would like to paint on.

Paint

All paints except for oil paint are able to be used in the studio

Warm Colours

• Primary colours
• Ultramarine Blue PB29
• Cadmium Yellow Medium PY35 or Hansa Yellow Medium PY74
• Cadmium Red Medium PR or Venetian Red PR

Cool Colours

• Primary Colours (cool) Cyan, Magenta, Yellow
• Pthalo Blue PB15.3 or Cyan Blue
• Quinacridone Magenta PR122
• Hansa Yellow Light PY3 or Lemon Yellow PY175
• Titanium White
• Posca Paint Pens for fine details (if you wish to use)
