Event description

Description

COULD THURGOONA GENERATE ITS OWN POWER?

This forum is an opportunity for Thurgoona residents and businesses to come together to discuss renewable energy and imagine how local energy generation might look in the future. Community-owned renewables are a fantastic opportunity for all of us to participate in developing clean energy. How our community switches on renewables is up to us.

Our speakers include:

MATT CHARLES-JONES, TOTALLY RENEWABLE YACKANDANDAH

Matt is Executive Officer of grassroots community energy group Totally Renewable Yackandandah (TRY) – a passionate and innovative community group committed to powering their town with 100% renewable energy by 2022.

BOBBI McKIBBIN, RENEWABLE ALBURY WODONGA ENERGY

Bobbi is director of solar integrity & a co-founder of Renewable Albury Wodonga Energy, a group of active citizens working to increase the uptake of renewable energy in Albury Wodonga.

MARK JUDD, MONDO POWER

Matt works for Mondo Power, part of AusNet Services, and has helped facilitate the Totally Renewable Yackandandah project. This unique partnership has not only led the Yackandandah Community Mini Grid project but also helped AusNet Services create and launch Mondo Power.

This event is made possible thanks to the generous support of Albury City Council and encouragement from Renewable Albury Wodonga.
