About this Event
Discover how to use your basic home sewing machine to create your very own thread drawings.
Juliet will carefully guide you through every step of this fun and creative technique through demonstrations, tuition and practical support.
Select your chosen design from provided images and resources or bring your own ideas if you prefer.
Learn the basics of freemotion embroidery including how to prepare your machine to free sew, how to transfer your designs to fabric, draw with the machine and add details & embelishments to your designs with threads and fabrics. There will be plenty of opportunity for practice, trouble shooting, skill building and experimentation!
If possible please bring your own sewing machine with a darning/embroidery foot. Some machines will be available to borrow - please let Juliet know as soon as possible if you wish to borrow one. All other equipment and materials provided and participants will leave with a finished piece to take home. Please note numbers in this workshop will be strictly limited to ensure individual attention Morning Tea provided. Please let Juliet know of any dietry requirements

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Le Studio is located about 15 mins by foot from Mordialloc Main Street and train station.
There is plenty of parking on Crown Avenue.
What can I bring into the event?
Please bring your own sewing machine with darning foot if possible and let Juliet know in advance if you are unable to do so. Some machines will be available to borrow.
You might like to also bring your own sewing equipment such as embroidery hoops, scissors, pins, threads and fabric scraps although these will all be provided.
Please feel free to bring your own designs/images/ideas to work on. Juliet will also provide these.
