Description

Come Along to view and purchase some excellent art work - all proceeds from this show will be dedicated to the Palliative Care and Geriatric Medicine Department at Barwon Health.

It’s never easy to be away from home.

I wish I could come along to our family trips.

I wish I could have “naughty” meals with you.

I wish I could celebrate my Birthday with you.

I wish I could come home and never have to leave again.

I will drop my heart and wish it will end up being with you.

I love you.

~ Khine

Background story

Thinn Thinn discovered her love for art and nature from playing in her grandmother’s garden as a child. She uses a variety of techniques and media to express the small moments of daily life. Thinn Thinn’s work is often charged with raw and powerful expressions that are inspired by deeply personal narratives.

In her work, a whimsical flower can come to represent memories of loved ones while bold colours outlined by charcoal strokes represent summer. A “heart” and a “girl” frequents much of her paintings, sometimes the heart encases the entire composition and everyone in it, sometimes the heart is there but always out of reach for the girl and sometimes the heart is broken – and so is the girl. However, no matter what the scene depicts her current body of work is there to remind us all of one thing, “Things could be worse!”
