About this event

Do you work with or support people experiencing grief?

Do you want to learn strategies and skills to confidently support someone who is grieving?

Between them, Wendy Liu and Nathan MacArthur have over 30 years of experience in grief and bereavement counselling. In this live webinar, they will share some of the knowledge and skills they find most effective in their work with patients and clients.

In this session they will discuss:

  • the impacts of grief (physical, cognitive, emotional, social, spiritual)
  • using theories of grief in practice
  • assessing and responding to needs and risks
  • creative ways to support someone who is grieving
  • counselling strategies for working with powerful emotions (e.g. guilt and anger)
  • self-care in the context of working with death, dying and grief

There will be a live question and answer session.

This session is suitable for counsellors, social workers, death doulas, nurses, doctors, chaplains, volunteers, mental health and allied health professionals who want to build their confidence in understanding and responding to people experiencing grief following a bereavement.

A recording of this webinar will be made available to anyone who registers to attend. Copies of the slides, a reference list and attendance certificates will be provided.
