The Young Filmmakers Project
Calling all budding filmmakers, actors and directors! Join us at StarTime Studios these school holidays to create and star in your very own film! You will have the chance to walk the red carpet to see the World Premier of your film on the Big Screen as part of the REELise Film Festival 2017!

Waverley Council, partnered with StarTime Studios and REELise Film Festival have come together to present this unique holiday experience for all young creatives aged 9 - 12years. In StarTime’s 3-day filmmaking workshop, you’ll band together with a production crew to create your own short film. Any film made in this special workshop will then go into selection for the 2017 REELise Film Festival, screening at Vmax Event Cinema - Bondi Junction.

StarTime Studios is the industry leader in filmmaking for young people. Guided by our experienced coaches, you will write, act, direct and edit your own movie production using the power of an iPad. Learn the fundamentals of video making and engage with some of the latest apps, including; green screen, timelapse sequencing and other SFX, making your digital stories more engaging and creative.

Share your story with StarTime this Summer and connect with others through the magic of film. The next big filmmaker is just waiting to be discovered!

About REELise
REELise is about youth empowerment. They provide a platform for young people to shape a better online environment through pocket filmmaking and student activism.

Their aim is to create a force for change that makes it unacceptable to bully and the norm to step in and help.

REELise run an annual youth film festival based on pocket phone filmmaking to broaden understanding and awareness about issues arising from today’s digital world that impact youth mental health.

The 2017 Competition theme is IRL (in real life). Films entered into the film festival must address the “IRL” theme. Entries close on 17 February 2017. For more information visit the REELise website.
