Event Details

Every now and then, someone comes along and fundamentally changes the way we look at food, dining and sustainability.  

In 2016 Josh Niland opened the now universally acclaimed & instantly award winning Sydney fish restaurant St Peter.  More recently Josh was shortlisted in the 2019 World Restaurant Ethical Thinking Awards; fueling the conversation he started in 2016 with his boundary pushing views on sustainable seafood.  In the past 2 years Josh has won just about every significant award in Australia for his ground-breaking approach to using the whole fish and wasting nothing.  Most recently, Josh opened The Fish Butchery, Australia's first sustainable fishmonger which sells dry-aged, cured & smoked fish & offal to an eager public as well as supplying many of Sydney's best restaurants.

Can I buy/pre-order a signed copy of The Whole Fish Cookbook?

Copies will be available for signing and purchase on the night - $55.  If you can't attend we can organise to post signed copies to you.  Postage (tracked & insured): Victoria $7.95; Australia wide $9.95; overseas we'll quote.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

If you have been to one of our events before, please note we have moved to the northern side of the Queen Victoria Market.  Our new address is 115-121 Victoria Street (next to A Shed)

We recommend public transport.

The 19, 20, 57 (Elizabeth St)and 55 (William & Peel St) trams go past the Queen Victoria Market and run frequently.  We are in the Free Tram Zone and are a short 50m walk from the Elizabeth St Queen Victoria Market stop and the Peel St Queen Victoria Market stop.  Melbourne Central and Flagstaff railway stations are two blocks away.

If driving, there is plenty of metered parking on Queen St near the corner of Victoria St.  There is also limited parking on Victoria Street outside the store.

 Is my registration/ticket transferable?

Yes - to another person - just have them present your ticket on the evening.  

What is the refund policy?

Tickets are not refundable. 


 A selection of tastes will be served during the event. Please advise of any allergies or intolerances.  Every dish will contain seafood.
