"The mountain hold of Hannigan's Bluff has been a small well-functioning mine for the better part of one hundred years. Originally settled by humans, it was bought out by a Dwarven Trade House some time ago and has continued to operate successfully ever since.
With the passing of another winter and the onset of spring, the mountain passes have once more opened and caravans laden with precious metals and stones should have begun their descent down to the lowlands before breaking off towards their final destination.
But nothing has come. Weeks have passed and not one has returned from its winter home. The few scouts sent up the mountain have failed to return. Faced with the potential to lose a considerable investment the Dwarven owners of Hannigan's Bluff have made it known that any company, militia or adventuring party who can reach the mines and return with the expected caravans in tow will be paid half its worth for this service.
For such a prize, word has traveled far and many a brave soul has gathered at the foot of the mountain range eager to head towards the summit and great wealth."
