IMNIS welcomes you to our very first NSW "Value of Networking" event where you will hear from senior industry leaders in the MedTech-Pharma and Energy Resources sectors. Learn about the importance and benefits of networking as the panellists discuss and share advice. Topics will include: how to network effectively, how to connect with a range of professionals in different settings, how developing an extensive network can help with career development and how someone can ‘give back’ to their network.

The event will include breakfast networking sessions half an hour before and after the panel discussions (7.30-8.00am and 9.00-9.30am)

Panellists

Carl Stubbingsis the Commercialisation Lead for Minomic International Limited. Carl is a highly qualified senior executive with over thirty years’ of global experience in the biotechnology and medical diagnostic industries. With expertise across the manufacturing, administration, sales & marketing areas Carl has worked across the industry to successfully commercialise products to the market. In his role at Panbio (USA) and Focus Diagnostics, Carl led the commercialisation of number of medical diagnostic products which included the first FDA cleared test for West Nile Virus and the first FDA cleared molecular test for H1N1. Carl has successfully leveraged this experience to benefit the Australian biotechnology ecosystem.

Philip Crealy Is a Co-founder and Director, Translational Research at Petri Exchange, a biotechnology corporate advisory company that aims to develop and then commercial opportunities with public and private investors. As part of this role Philip drives the commerciallisation strategies for partners biotechnlogy companies across all sectors of the pharmaceutical lifecycle i.e. from pre-clinical research through to mature product patrimony. With over 10 years working in commercialisation sector Philip has a diverse background that includes health economics and clinical pharmacology.

Prajni Sadananda - Is the Business Development & Strategy Manager at Medtronic where her key focus is on investment opportunities and partnerships that can help accelerate business growth. During her career Prajni has gained expertise across the marketing, financial, supply chain, quality and legal knowledge of getting products from the biotechnology space into the market. After completing her PhD in neurophysiology, Prajni completed post-doctoral work at the University of Bristol and University of Melbourne.

Moderator

Beth O’Leary - is Executive Director of Health Economics at Covance, a multinational contract research organisation. Beth has over 15 years’ of strategic business development experience and whilst at Covance has been responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of companies trying to gain market access for their products. Beth has worked globally with a broad range of companies in the Med-tech-pharma industry has a profound knowledge into the global reimbursement environment. Beth has completed both the Sloan Masters in Leadership and Strategy from the London Business School and a Master’s in Public Health from UWA.


Host

Dr Marguerite Evans-Galea is the Executive Director of the Industry Mentoring Network in STEM (IMNIS) at the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering. In her scientific career she led biomedical research programs in the US and Australia, published in leading journals, served on the executive of professional societies and won several grants and awards internationally. Marguerite has received an Australian Leadership Award for her vision for the future of Australian science and is an inductee and Ambassador for the Victorian Honour Roll of Women.
