The Larrakia people have held a deep spiritual connection with the land and sea, and ancestors for thousands of years. The Larrakia people still follow their ancestors' ancient traditions. As traditional owners of the Darwin Region, Larrakia people feel great responsibility for those who visit their land.
The Water Blessing and Smoking Ceremony is a unique opportunity to you to immerse yourself in a beautiful world of Aboriginal culture, to be accepted by the First Nation People and be introduced as a welcomed guest to the land, sea and spiritual ancestors of the Larrakia Nation through the beautiful ceremony what they call Welcome to Country.
Soon after the Water Blessing and Smoking Ceremony, there will be a Cultural Food Expo from over ten different countries and cultures, for which everyone is welcome to enjoy cultural food.
Then, the crowd move by shuttle bus service or accompanied walk to Darwin Hilton Hotel ballroom to enjoy the Aboriginal Comedy Show followed by The Journey of many colors - A storytelling session by International students and migrants and a few cultural performances.
The Unity Festival - Journey of Many Colors will end with the distribution of the certificate of appreciation for the community volunteers who supported the NT community in various ways.
