PROVIDING FOR SITTING PLAY

This 50 minute online on-demand gig is about enabling children and young people to get the most from their loose parts play. It does this by exploring the theory behind the idea and exploring how it works in practice.

This is the first gig in a three-part mini-series on Loose Parts Play, 'The Ugly Side of Loose Parts' asks what is it that makes them work. It does this by defining what they are and setting out the history of loose parts theory. We find there are actually two very different traditions in practice that have moved closer together in recent years. This 'coming together' has created a bit of a clash and produced some confusion and myth.

It is relevant to any age group in a play setting from toddlers to teenagers, and pretty much any type of setting where children spend time playing.

HOW DOES THIS GIG WORK
