The Three Lost Children (25kms) - Circuit on the 14th of March, 2021
Event Information
About this Event
The Three Lost Children walk follows the approximate route the boys walked.
The walk will take you through bush landscapes that were once active goldfields, and now part of the Wombat State Forest and the Hepburn Regional Park.
Along the walk you will see the remnants of gold mines, water races and tramways.
Walking Notes:
Duration: 25kms
Time: 6hrs
Grading: 3 (Moderate with some hill climbing and creek crossings).
Start: Daylesford Lake Boathouse Café in Daylesford
We will be walking the extra 6-7kms back to the cars at the Daylesford Lake carpark rather than organising a car shuffle.
Bring: Adequate water (minimum 2 litres), snacks and lunch.
Other Notes:
In respect for the boys I thought that we might each write a short note to them where we will place at the memorial site which we will visit on our way home at Wheelers Hill on our way home.
Toilets are only available at the start of the hike at the Daylesford Lake.
