ABOUT THE PANEL

ADAM GOODRUM

Adam Goodrum designs with the philosophy that an object must therefore justify its existence – through its story and detailing. For this reason, his designs celebrate process and craftsmanship, and accentuate components and joinery to create functional pieces with spirit and personality. In recent years, Goodrum’s work has been awarded a host of design accolades including the NGV Rigg Prize, Vogue x Alessi Design Prize, Indesign Luminary Award and the Idea Awards Editor’s Medal. He has also been commissioned to design pieces for several global luxury brands including Veuve Clicquot, Alessi and Cappellini.

Adam’s designs for new Australian furniture brand NAU, launched by CULT has seen MALLOY Chair and BOWER both decorated with coveted Good Design Australia Awards, and showcased at the debut showcase DESIGN-MADE. // adamgoodrum.com @adamgoodrumstudio

ADAM CORNISH

The scope of Adam Cornish’s work includes an impressive range of design disciplines, from furniture and household innovation, to commercial and residential installations. Cornish’s interest in design stems from his curiosity into the ‘how’; how things are made, how they perform and how they will endure the test of time. After studying Industrial Design at the University of Technology Sydney and Furniture Design at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Cornish is now based in Melbourne, with products represented by luxury Italian brand Alessi.

Adam Cornish was awarded the CULT Design Journey award several years ago that has led to his most recent collaboration STRAND Chairs and REV stools for CULT’s new Australian furniture brand NAU. DESIGN -MADE. is honoured to showcase the first presentation of STRAND colour. // adamcornish.com @adamcornishdesign

TOM FEREDAY

Tom Fereday develops products based on the principle of honest design, conveying a design process that celebrates materials and manufacturing processes that underpin design from the inside out.
Born in Australia, Tom grew up in England studying at the Wimbledon School of Art before returning home to complete Industrial Design (Honours) at the University of Technology Sydney. After several years working across Europe and Australia, Tom founded his Sydney studio in 2012.

Recent collections include SP01 outdoor furniture for SPACE Furniture, WES upholstery collection for ZENITH furniture, Bow chair for designbythem, and lighting made by RAKUMBA that exhibited this year at Milan Design Week with LOCAL DESIGN. DESIGN-MADE. is honoured to showcase his latest work including a new chair concept, and purpose-designed furniture in our FEBRIK Lounge at Sunstudios. // tomfereday.com @tom_fereday

SEATON MCKEON

After studying Industrial Design at University of NSW Seaton worked across product design, experience design, way finding, transportation & urban design, and is currently an Industrial Designer at Blue Sky Design Group where has worked on concepts for Electrolux and Nescafe.

Seaton McKeon’s 2015 Australian Furniture Design Award led to the opportunity to design PAPERCLIP the first major Australian-designed & made outdoor collection for STYLECRAFT. The outdoor seating collection is made from mild steel, the design inspired by simple processes pioneered by commodities such as the paperclip, and realised in a wire or perforated sheet metal format, with timber armrest detailing. // studiomckeon.com @studio.mckeon
