Event description

Description

The University of Sydney is delighted to invite its closest international partners to attend the Sydney Summit from 14 to 16 November 2018.

The Sydney Summit will explore some of the common issues facing universities around the world across four areas: Planetary Health, Multidisciplinary Research, Global Education Partnerships, and Industry Engagement.

The summit will be an opportunity for senior executives and key researchers to meet for three days of stimulating discussion and network building.

Answering the big questions

The formal sessions will discuss some of the most pressing questions facing global society and consider the role of institutions like ours in responding to these questions:

  • How do we bring together expertise from diverse areas to work on multidisciplinary initiatives such as planetary health?
  • How can we collaborate to tackle major global challenges such as diabetes and obesity, social and economic equality and climate change?
  • How does addressing these challenges relate to our educational approaches?
  • How can we best collaborate to address global challenges and achieve positive translational outcomes for our society?
  • How do we measure external engagement and societal impact?
  • How can universities build innovative clusters of research activity, to the benefit of multiple end users in industry, government and the community?
