Event description

Description

Explore South Australia's pioneering past at your own pace with a self-guided tour of iconic Bungaree Station. Established in 1841 by the Hawker family, Bungaree became the headquarters of one of Australia’s most successful sheep flocks. Audioposts and signs around the village-like property (including the woolshed, station store, church, stableyard and homestead gardens) now enable visitors of all ages to step back in time through 177 years of fascinating history. Activity books are available for children. Coffee and tea is available for purchase, along with farm and local produce. Heritage accommodation also available at special rates for History Festival visitors.

This is a SA History Festival event. The self guided tour begins at the Station Office and is available daily between 10am and 4pm.

Advance bookings not required but can be made online, by email or by phone. Tickets are $15 per person, discounted to $7.50 per child aged 3-12 years.
