A design thinking program for girls in and around Wagga Wagga, NSW.

About this Event

The Social Impact Explorer program empowers teams of girls to identify a problem in their community and then ideate, validate and test a solution in the form of a social enterprise.

  • Teams can be between 4-6 girls in Years 9-11 (if you have girls in Year 7 and 8 who you think would love this program, please get in touch with us)
  • This is a two-day program: 21/10 + 22/10, 9.30am-3pm
  • This program will be led by Young Change Agent facilitators
  • Educators are invited to attend*

  • The program will be delivered online, due to COVID-19 restrictions.

*IMPORTANT NOTE TO EDUCATORS

Educators are participants in the program and is the first of our four stages of professional development. You will be immersed in the program forming a teacher team doing everything the students do. After the program you'll receive a 12-month license to our eLearning platform with NESA accredited training and other resources.

ABOUT THE ACADEMY OF ENTERPRISING GIRLS/YOUNG CHANGE AGENTS

Young Change Agents is a NFP social enterprise with a mission to help young people see problems as opportunities through entrepreneurship, Our focus is on building the mindset, skillset and toolset of young people and we do this in a scalable way by investing in eco-system development, teacher capacity building and proprietary technology to support our face-to-face programs. In 2020, Young Change Agents is a key delivery partner for the Australian Government initiative, the Academy of Enterprising Girls as well as a Digital Futures Partner of Telstra Foundation reaching youth in regional and rural areas across Australia. Our programs are inclusive of all youth including marginalised and disadvantaged young Australians.

ABOUT CHARLES STURT UNIVERSITY INNOVATION HUBS

As a leader in regional innovation, the Charles Sturt University Innovation Hubs have been supporting the regions innovators for three years. The Hubs have a number of initiatives that help develop ground breakers from a flicker of an idea to full blown startups, including Incubator programs, founder events, innovation and entrepreneurship programs for university and high school students.

CANCELLATION POLICY

The value of this program is $5,000 funded by the Academy for Enterprising Girls. There is no charge to your school.

If you cancel the program within 2 weeks of the start date you will be charged 50% of the course value. If cancelled within 3 days of the program start date you will be charged the entire course value. *COVID19 reasons exempt.
