Description

Learning environments are often referred to as “the third teacher”, but what are the key things that every educator should know about planning, designing, providing and reviewing spaces for children?

This hands-on workshop will explore practical examples from operating centres to support professionals to create spaces that encourage children’s learning, wellbeing and development.


Suitable for: Early childhood settings, School-age settings, Family day care.

NQS Standards: 1.2 (Practice), 3.1 (Design of physical environment), 3.2 (Use of physical environment), 5.1 (Relationships between educators and children), 5.2 (Relationships between children).

Presenters: Anna Whitty is an experienced leader in the early childhood sector, and has a strong commitment to leadership that enables early childhood professionals to be fearless in standing up for children, educators and the importance of early childhood education.

Liam McNicholas has worked in a range of roles in early childhood education, as well as writing and broadcasting regularly on issues affecting early childhood education in Australia.

This workshop will include a light lunch.
