The Reset

In September 2017 I ran a pilot for a new program I called “The Reset”. It was a bigger success than even I had hoped, with everyone who came glowing at the end of it.

Goals don't work.

I started The Reset because I noticed - in myself and in others - that *goals* really don’t work.

Normally they’re framed around “when I achieve this, I’ll be happy”. Many of us these days share a similar goal, that I and many others had never achieved: “when I lose this amount of weight, I’ll be happy”.

When you write it down like that it even looks silly, but when we’re in it, we truly think that when we hit “the goal”, whatever that might be, we’ll all of a sudden feel happy.

Goals don't teach us how to feel good.

In reality, of course, it doesn’t happen. Sometimes we reach our goal, sometimes we don’t, but at no point in the process do we understand what it is to actually be happy or feel good about ourselves. In some ways, goals like this actively make us feel worse.

What’s more, when people do reach their goal weight, it doesn’t stick: they gain weight again, and feel worse than they did before, confused as to why it “didn’t work”.

I thought my life would improve if I was 'skinny'.

I was exactly like that. For years I wanted to be ‘skinny’. I thought my life would improve and I would feel better about myself if I was ‘skinny’. In the last 12-18 months, I shifted my focus. I wanted to FEEL better. I stopped worrying about everything I ate, stopped obsessing over exercise, and worked hard to FEEL good.

The amazing thing is that my body followed how I felt about myself. The better I felt, the better I started to look; unlike restrictive diets or over-exercising, this way of living is sustainable for a lifetime, not just a few months.

That’s the problem I sought to address with The Reset. I wanted to help people understand how to create sustainable change in their lives, and to feel good about themselves, every day.

The better I felt, the better I started to look.

The Reset is a 28 day mindset and attitude overhaul that will leave you healthier, happier and feeling better about yourself than ever before.

Over the course of a month we’ll live through my 5 steps to betterment:


  1. The first step, awareness, is about recognising your starting point and being conscious of - and proud of - the life you’ve already created for yourself. Without awareness, you can’t have the courage or foresight to make changes in your life. It’s kind of like using google maps. it can’t send you to your destination without knowing where you already are.

  2. The second step, choice, is about getting clear on the fact that everything we have is a result of the choices we make. The things we choose through action - or inaction - often demonstrate our true intentions. This step is about recognising the choices we’re currently making, and the choices we’re going to make moving forward.

  3. The third step, intention, is about looking at the why behind the choices we make. Intention is the reason that underlies action when motivation is gone. It’s our reason for taking the action that leads us towards the life we want.

  4. The fourth step, action, is where the magic happens. No plan or dream is worth anything without action, but directionless action leads to an unfulfilling and unsustainable result. This is where we take everything we’ve learned so far - our newfound awareness, choices and intentions - and turn what we want, into what we have.

  5. The fifth step… Well that’s the key ingredient, and you’ll have to join the reset to find out what that key ingredient is!


The Reset is about normalising a constructive self-narrative, where instead of living in a constant state of denial and restriction, we love ourselves and do positive things to nourish our bodies and minds.

It's about learning the skills necessary for creating sustainable change, nourishing your body and feeling great about how you look - every single day, for the rest of your life.

The Reset Options

In-Person Group

Starting with an in-person group session in Melbourne, the seminar is about creating the map towards a better life. Based upon awareness, choice, intention and action. This isn’t a mindless plan that I create for you. This is something we come up with together that will make every day of your life better. It’s not just the goal, it’s the process.

For the next 28 days you’ll follow your map, guided by daily messages and the Reset Workbook, with daily tasks and encouragement.

Finally, we come together again at the end for a seminar on Step 5 - the key ingredient to creating sustainable change.

Online Group

Last time I ran The Reset so many people wanted to do it from afar - as far as Wisconsin! - that this time I’ve decided to bite the bullet and offer an online group version of The Reset. Like the In-Person Group, we’ll start with a seminar where we create your map towards a better life. Every person will receive the same workbook, the same support during The Reset, and we’ll end with the same seminar on Step 5: the key ingredient to creating sustainable change.

One-on-one

Finally, there’s the one-on-one option for those who want it. It’ll start and end with a personal coaching session, and there’ll be two support calls during the Reset. One-on-one Resetters will get the same great workbook, but the content of their reset will be tailored to them personally.

All attendees - whether in group, online or one-on-one, will leave the reset feeling better about themselves and their lives than ever before.
