FREE ONE-DAY TRAINING FOR FAMILY VIOLENCE WORKERS

Did you know that 80 - 90% of women living with Family Violence have experienced Financial Abuse?

Financial abuse affects around 2 million Australian women. It is recognised nationwide as form of family violence, but women may not identify it as such.

As a FV worker, you can help!

Whether you are a newcomer to family violence services, or have experience but need to update or to build your skills, The Purse Project workshop is for you.

This FREE One-day training workshop by WIRE will include new information and updated research on Financial Capability and provide simple tools and methods. You will have space to practice and share your skills and expertise with others. Topics covered include:

  • Prevalence and short and long-term impacts of financial abuse
  • How to identify perpetrator tactics and behaviours
  • How Financial Abuse impacts on women’s financial capability across different stages of recovery
  • How to unpack women’s emotional relationships with money
  • How to open up those difficult ‘money conversations’
  • Find out "who’s who" and "'who does what" in the fast-growing financial services sector
  • How to make more effective referrals, collaborate and advocate for your clients
  • Identify risky lenders and services.

And much more!

You will receive follow-up support and secondary consultations, to maximize your training and spread the word!

All materials provided and will include worksheets suitable for use with service users.
