Event description

Description

Come and have your say about how we create The Children's Museum of Western Australia!

Speaker panel and Sundowner.

This is for parents, educators, politicians, and anybody who wants to help make a difference.

What is a Children's Museum and how will it benefit families in WA?

  • Children's museums curate experiences. They are, essentially, indoor programmed play spaces.
  • Museums can be defined as public spaces in which people learn, at CMOWA children will learn through play - and the bonus is they won't even know they are learning as they will be having so much fun!
  • They introduce families with young children to the concept of a museum, with the general understanding that these children will grow up and become patrons of other museums.

What kind of museum do YOU want? What is needed in our community?

This is your chance to help us create the best possible facility here in WA. We have visited many children's museums around the world (there are over 400 of them - some bigger than the Art Gallery of WA!) but we are WA focused and proud, and need to incorporate ideas that are specific to our surroundings and needs.

We will hear from the experts about the importance of play in Early Childhood development, and there will be a Q&A after the panel discussion.

There will be complimentary food and drinks for guests who confirm their attendance via Eventbrite.
