Event description

Description

To better understand our ecosystem, startup founders, investors and supporters should be champions of better measurement.

Data collection, assessment and analysis is the first step of fostering more vibrant ecosystems and stronger companies, and is a way for everyone to contribute to the community.

As part of the City of Sydney's Visiting Entrepreneur Program, BlueChilli is hosting a panel discussion with Jager McConnell, CEO of Crunchbase, and leaders in Australia's tech startup community on the importance of having data on startup ecosystems and how that drives growth.

Speakers

The panel will be moderated by Gen George (founder of tamme, Skilld and co-founder of LMBDW), with panellists including:

Jager McConnell, CEO Crunchbase

Jager is the CEO of Crunchbase, the leading platform used by millions of entrepreneurs and investors looking to discover innovative companies and the people behind them. Jager joined Crunchbase after it spun out from AOL, a move that was announced at TechCrunch Disrupt in 2015. Prior to joining Crunchbase, Jager spent 11 years at Salesforce in various roles across sales, marketing and product development. In his last role at Salesforce, Jager was VP of Product in the Sales Cloud, where he oversaw the core salesforce automation product line.

Monica Wulff, CEO & Co-founder Startup Muster

Monica founded Startup Muster in 2013 with Murray Hurps. Startup Muster is the largest survey of the Australian Startup Ecosystem, with a mission to measure and showcase the progress, challenges and opportunities within the ecosystem. In four years, Startup Muster has received over 400,000 answers from over 5,000 startup founders and supporters.
