Event description

Description

Mindfulness has been described as an inherent expression of presence. It's not a mental technique, or something we do to arrive somewhere, change or improve ourselvves. Neither is it used to "fix" a problem. Mindfulness - or a mind full of awareness - arises spontaneously when we relax and pay attention.

However, as we respond and deepen into this practice, paradoxes begin to reveal themselves, beyond the ability of the rational mind to grasp. Opening to these paradoxes is the work of mindfulness, and in this training we will explore some of these -

  • The one who is trying to become present is the one who is presuming to be separate from it
  • There is absolutely nothing to do, but we need to make an effort
  • The path of practice leads us to where we already are
  • Self-development within our already perfect nature

This training is for experienced mindfulness practitioners who wish to extend themselves into new areas of learning. In this quiet and supportive environment we will follow a schedule of teaching sessions, silent sitting and walking meditations, and discussion.

Please bring food for a light lunch and wear comfortable clothing.
