The Orange Door (GOULBURN) Local Establishment Forum

Dear Colleagues,

We would like to invite you to attend the first Local Establishment Forum for "The Orange Door, Goulburn" on Wednesday, 17th July, 2019.

The establishment of The Orange Door (formerly known as Support & Safety Hubs) was a key recommendation of the Royal Commission into Family Violence. The Orange Door is a new way for women, children and young people experiencing family violence and families in need of support with the care, wellbeing and development of children and young people, to access the services they need to be safe and supported.

The Orange Door commenced operations in 2018 in the initial launch sites of Bayside Peninsula (BPA), Barwon, North East Melbourne (NEMA), Mallee & Inner Gippsland. Family Safety Victoria are currently working on establishing The Orange Door in the next three areas of Central Highlands, Loddon and Goulburn.

The Orange Door is provided in partnership across government, community sector organisations and Aboriginal Services. For Goulburn, Family Safety Victoria are working closely with our partner agencies, FamilyCare, Nexus Primary Health, Primary Care Connect, Rumbalara Aboriginal Cooperative, Department of Health & Human Services and Victoria Police.

We are also convening Local Establishment Forums to support strong engagement across the local area. The forums are a chance for the broader service network to come together, including representatives from state government departments, local government, agencies from across justice, health, social and community services and local Aboriginal communities and services.

The purpose of The Orange Door Local Establishment Forum is to:

- Facilitate information exchange between FSV and the broader service system during The Orange Door implementation.

- Cultivate a deep understanding of The Orange Door service model; and

- Provide an opportunity for feedback and discussion about the local service offering.

VENUE: Shepparton Golf Club, 15 Golf Drive, Shepparton.

These discussions may be more suited to a senior member of your staff with operational knowledge, therefore please feel free to delegate this this invitation to the most appropriate person in your organisation. We would ideally prefer one representative per organisation.
