About our speakers

Josephine Moon

Josephine has four novels published internationally — The Tea Chest, The Chocolate Promise, The Beekeeper’s Secret and Three Gold Coins — and has sold over 180,000 copies. She describes her novels as ‘books like chocolate brownies’—rich, inviting, a treat for soul but with chunky nuts to chew on, with a dash of sea salt that lingers on the tongue. She lives in the Noosa hinterland, Australia, with her husband, son and a tribe of animals that, despite her best intentions, seems to expand every year.

Josephine is a proud sponsor of Story Dogs Australia, currently sponsoring Ella and Charlie on the Sunshine Coast. Story Dogs teams visit primary schools to encourage reading development in early learners. Story Dogs is a charity close to Jo’s heart, combining her love of literacy and reading with children and animals.

Rachael Johns

Rachael Johns is an English teacher by trade, a mum 24/7, a chronic arachnophobic, a Diet Coke addict, a podcast junkie and a writer the rest of the time. She rarely sleeps and never irons. Rachael has finaled in a number of other of competitions, including the Australian Romance Readers Awards. Jilted won Favourite Australian Contemporary Romance for 2012, The Patterson Girls won the same award for 2015 and she was voted in the Top Ten of Booktopia’s Favourite Australian Author poll in 2013.

Rachael lives in the Perth hills with her hyperactive husband, three mostly gorgeous heroes-in-training, two ginger cats, a cantankerous bird and a very badly-behaved dog.
