This ticket is for families to attend the Festival and listen to performances. The pass covers all family members for all days of the Festival. Individuals attending to watch performances should also select this ticket type. Teachers attend for free and do not need to register.

Event Details

Welcome to The Miles Franklin Music Festival 2017! Our annual Festival has run since 1986, and is a competitive but inclusive opportunity for students aged 7-15 to perform on a range of instruments in a supportive environment. The Festival is run by volunteers from the school’s P&C Music Scheme, and celebrates young musicians of all ages and stages, placing an emphasis on participation and camaraderie through a shared love of music.  

Registrations close on Friday 2nd June 2017, and no late registrations will be accepted.  Before registering please read the full Section Listing and the Conditions of Entry and Festival Rules, especially those relating to time limits and copyright requirements.


Which section/s should I enter?

How long do I need to play for?

How do I know when I will be performing?

After entries have closed and the schedule is finalized, copies of the programme will be emailed to entrants in July. Printed copies of the programme will be available during the Festival for a gold coin donation.

Is my registration/ticket transferable?

Competitor registrations are non-transferable.  Please see the Festival Rules regarding performer substitutions in group sections.

Do I have to bring my ticket to the event?

Please print and bring your ticket to the event, or alternatively present your e-ticket on a mobile device at the door. 

I am attending the event to watch a performance, do I need a ticket?

Yes, family members and spectators will need to purchase a Family Attendance Pass through this event page in order to watch performances on the day. One Family Attendance Pass covers the whole family or an individual spectator not coming as part of a competitor's family, for the duration of the Festival.  Teachers come for free and do not need to register.

How do I register for multiple sections or for multiple competitors?

You will need to select one ticket per performer per section, eg if you have three performers entering two sections you will need to select six tickets on the ticketing page.  It should be clear in the ticketing process, but more information is on our online registration tutorial on the Facebook page if you need it.

The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

Please ensure the name on the ticket matches the performer's name. 

I have already completed my registration and ticket order but have realised I made a mistake. Can I update or change order details?

Yes, you should be able to go back and update or change details even after purchase. You can update the information on your order (like name, email address, or answers to the organiser's questions) by clicking your order on the Tickets page - you must be logged in to do so.

What can I win by entering?

The Festival's ethos is to promote participation rather than competition, so traditionally we do not award monetary or other prizes.  Instead, place ribbons and participation certificates are awarded and all competitors receive an adjudicator's report to help them in their musical journey.

What is the refund policy?

Performer registrations and family tickets are non-refundable.

Miles Franklin Music Scheme

The Miles Franklin Music Scheme is run by parents of children at the school, and supports music education by providing individual instrumental tuition in school hours and funding resources and equipment for the school.
