The Lambic Tasting
Event Information
About this Event
This is it.
This is the Lambic Tasting event that has been 60+ years in the making!
DTC has always had a fascination with aged beers. We've had the fortune and pleasure of trying beers that were over 100 years old - and still tasted amazing!
This is our opportunity to give you the chance to try Lambic that has aged in a cellar for over 60 years. This is the fabled Goossen / Eylenbosch Lambic. Both breweries are no longer existing.
3000 old bottles of Lambic that were found by accident 10 years ago. Grandson Frederik Geeroms cannot give us the exact age of the bottles and neither KU Leuven was able to analyse the cork or yeast to determine the exact age, but it can be said with certainty that the bottles are at least 60 years old.
With a painted white stripe, these beers are noted as Gueuze.
We were fortunate enough to secure 6 bottles. One of which will be opened for an intimate 6 person tasting event.
Other amazing and rare Lambics that will be consumed at the tasting include:
2011 Drie Fonteinen Golden Blend - a special blend of 1,2,3 and 4 year old Lambic.
1999 Belle-Vue Sélection Lambic - unsweetened and unfiltered gueuze that was bottled by Belle-Vue in various vintages until 1999. Is no longer produced.
2017 Cantillon Lambic D'Aunis - Lambic created with Pineau d’Aunis grapes.
2018 Bokkereyder Framboos Vanille - Raspberry Lambic with vanilla. Near impossible to get a hold of!
2010 Cuvée René Special Blend - an exclusive blend of 4 year old Lambic with young Lambic. Limited edition of 15,000 bottles.
All of the above are Lambics that you don't come across very often, if at all!
Tickets are limited to 6 places - a very intimate affair.
Ticket prices are $185 each.
