The Interactive Foodies Tablecloth
Daily Event: 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM (EST)
Slow food has been accepted to do a design event for Sydney Design 2013, a powerhouse museum event, in conjunction with the Botanic Gardens. So we would like to welcome you to this unique experience.
We are working with this years Sydney Design theme and question: “Can clever design save the world?”.
We have devised an event where you will experience and enjoy the many aspects of food and get you thinking on sustainability, ark of taste products, indigenous foods and then taste and experience these items whilst listening to various talks and being part of the interactive tablecloth. From the tablecloth where we start our daily food journey, through to the garden where it is grown to all in-between will be part of our food journey.
The event includes:
Talks: On sustainability, Slow Food, bush tucker and other food related subjects
Walk: Around the bush tucker garden, guided by Clarence who is highly experienced and will answer your questions in this area – this garden holds plants from the Sydney region, so it is pertinent to our area.
Experience: The interactive tablecloth – this will be great fun for the kids
Taste: Our talented Slow Food committee members will be cooking up some tasting food for everyone, which will include seasonality, sustainability, organic, indigenous and even some ark of taste products, for your enjoyment.
This event will be fun, educational and held in the historic and beautiful Rathborne Lodge. Come and have a unique day of design, thinking, eating, talking and generally enjoying everything related to food.
