A free practical 2 hour workshop for small business owners who want to master the hiring process and find the right fit for their team.

We know hiring for your growing business can be daunting. A mis-hire can be costly and stressful, and hiring without a strategy wastes valuable time. But get it right, and you'll strengthen and diversify the capability of your business. Find the right people for your team and you'll feel supported and free to focus on what you do best as a business owner.

The Hiring Workshop takes the stress and mystery out of the hiring process by sharing the insight and techniques we’ve gained from our experience working in human resources and communications.

We're cutting through the noise and delivering you a jam-packed 2-hour workshop in person where you'll learn how to:

  • Outline an actionable job description based on solving a problem in your business, focusing on skills not a personality type.

  • Get those fluffy ducks in a row! Let's establish a basic checklist with budget, employment types, super, payroll, tax and useful resources to keep handy.

  • Apply your business values as a foundation to hiring and why this is crucial for the long term.

  • Create a compelling job ad that grabs the attention of the right people.

  • Be resourceful and tap into industry, educational and professional networks to find talent - sometimes you need to think inside and outside the box!

  • Build a talent pool and positive brand impression by effectively managing applicants - again, learning the importance of value setting.

  • Pre-screen and interview effectively using simple techniques that help you shortlist and recognise "the right fit", including how to get value out of reference checks.

  • Identify the "best" candidate for the job.

  • Formalise an employment offer and secure your candidate.

  • Develop an onboarding and training management plan to set your new employee up for success!
