About our Speakers

Justin Langer AM

Until the announcement of his retirement from test cricket in 2007 Justin was one of Australia’s great top-order batsmen, playing 105 tests and scoring 7,696 runs including 23 test centuries. Few have worn the baggy green with greater pride.

Along with Matthew Hayden, Justin formed a hugely successful opening partnership, which ranks as the best in Australian history.

After retiring from his playing career Justin moved into the coaching arena firstly as Batting-Mentoring Coach of the Australian test cricket team and later as Assistant Coach.

In 2012 Justin achieved a long-held dream when he was appointed Coach of Western Australian cricket (Perth Scorchers and Western Warriors). After six very successful years as Coach of WA Justin was offered the role of Coach of the Australian cricket team in May 2018.

After four years in that all encompassing role Justin resigned to spend more time with his family and friends. Leading into that decision, the Australian men’s team had won the T20 World Cup for the first time, the Ashes and were ranked the number one team in international cricket. At the same time Justin was entered in the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame and was awarded Wisden’s Coach of the Year.

Justin is patron of Solaris Care, Children’s Leukaemia & Cancer Research Foundation, Kyle Andrews Foundation and an ambassador for the Fathering Project, Ear Science Institute Australia, the Bravery Trust and Ovarian Cancer Australia. He was named as a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for his services to Australian cricket in the 2008 Queens Birthday Honours List. He has written six books and is in the process of writing his next book on Leadership.

Janine Allis

Janine is not your everyday self-made businesswoman. She grew her juice and smoothie empire in 2000 from her kitchen bench to an international success story. Retail Zoo was created in 2007 to grow young food retail brands using their expertise and solid back end. Since its inception three brands: Salsa's Fresh Mex Grill, CIBO Espresso and Betty's Burgers & Concrete Co have joined and continue to grow year on year.

Janine’s business approach has made her a leader in her field, with BRW listing Janine as one of the top 15 people who have changed the way business is done in the last 25 years and Bastion Collective listing her as one of Australia’s top 20 most successful Australians in 2019.

Apart from her Directorship with Retail Zoo, Janine is a Director for the Australian Pharmaceutical Industries (API) and is an ambassador for Australia for UNHCR helping to create awareness for refugees around the world.

Janine is a bestselling author of The Accidental Entrepreneur, has featured on Channel TEN’s, Shark Tank as an investor and TEN's Australian Survivor as a Champion competitor. She is currently appearing as an advisor on Celebrity Apprentice Australia. She also co-hosts her own podcast with Margie Hartley; 'Superwomen We Ain't'.

Janine’s philosophy is simple – if she can do it, anyone can. “I still love getting up every morning and being a part of this great adventure. I’ll keep doing it as long as I love it and who knows where we could end up next!”.
