Event description
The Goddess Series (Volume 2). Storytelling. Restorative Yoga. Meditation. Mantra.

About this event

The Goddess Series (Volume 2) is an online program where Katie Durgā of Durga Mindfulness will take you to the magical worlds of Mā Ganga, who allows Divine grace to flow, and Goddess Lalita, the Goddess of Bliss. Katie Durgā will be guiding you through two beautiful calming Goddess-inspired yoga practices - relaxing in gentle restorative floor-based yoga postures while she shares with you the ancient stories of Goddesses, reflecting on what those stories mean for your life and yoga practice today. Breathwork, mantra, and meditation will also be incorporated for each of the Goddesses. These more subtle forms of yoga are a beautiful nourishing rejuvenation process - a way of doing less, turning within, letting go, and surrendering. Surrender, connection, insight. A little bit of magical bliss, drawing from Katie Durgā’s extensive travels to India and her passion for the Divine feminine!

Starting on full moon on 21 September! The exchange for this experience is $60 (Australian dollars) for two practices. Practices are recorded so you can enjoy this anywhere and anytime, and access will be available for one month from commencement of The Goddess Series.

ABOUT THE TEACHER

Katie Durgā Welsh, founder of Durga Mindfulness, is level 2 yoga teacher with Yoga Australia. She is a champion of rest, of bringing peace through meditation, mantra, restorative yoga, yin yoga and Himalayan Kuṇḍalinī yoga. India has been her greatest influence in her yoga teaching and where she first practiced yoga over 25 years ago. Since then, she has been lucky to have trained with some of the best yoga teachers in India and the US, including Anand Mehrotra, Sarah Powers, Kaya Mindlin, Heather Agnew, and Sharādā Vaidika. With the teachings of her various teachers, Katie has contemplated and taken those teachings through her own life experiences including breast cancer, senior leadership roles, her India travels and her spiritual life - creating her own perspective of the wisdom. Katie has trained extensively in Indian yoga philosophy and mantra. She is passionate about the history and tradition of yoga, particularly the Goddess traditions, the Devī Māhātmya and the Bhagavad Gītā, and she encourages people to understand the broader meaning of yoga, rather than what often you see in marketing and on social media. Katie brought the ancient yogic wisdom to life during her recent breast cancer journey, allowing that wisdom to support her and help her to heal, and she now supports women on this same path.
