Description
Are you interested in the evolving and changing world for people, and how local churches is are central to the change itself?
On Tuesday, 8 August, UME is thrilled to be hosting a delegation of international visitors from World Methodist Evangelism and the WMEI:
- Dr. Jehu Hanciles,
- Rev. Dr. L. Wesley de Souza,
- Rev. Dr. Kimberly Reisman, and
- Rev. Dr. Robert Haynes.
Our visiting dignitaries will lead a discussion on: “The Future of Local Mission” in an era of global mass migration and climate change. As peoples of all nations and cultures are moving across continents in unprecedented numbers, World Methodism has engaged afresh with that world and with holistic mission. Hear how they are achieving fresh engagements at a local, regional, state and national level.
Uniting Church congregations are often caught in these changes locally, and are deeply uncertain how to meet them. Join members of the Uniting Church, UME staff and congregation community members for a morning of discussion and exploration.
Program:
10:15 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Morning Tea
10:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Seminar & Workshop
1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Optional Lunch* to meet and continue discussion ($25 per person*)
