Energy in Cambodia by 2040 - that's in 20 years. If we look back 20 years - less than 15% of Cambodia's population had access to grid electricity supplied by oil and diesel generation or neighbouring countries. Car batteries supplied much of rural access to electricity. The majority of energy consumed was biomass for cooking. The cost of solar powered generation was an order of magnitured more than it is today.

Fast forward 20 years - what will be the future of Energy in Cambodia?

EnergyLab is collaborating with Enrich Institute's Chairman, Dr. Heng Pheakdey to host this event. He will run a discussion considering the probable future of energy in Cambodia by 2040 and comparing that to the desired future of energy. From that framework the policies that are needed to get towards the desired future are explored. There are many different directions that the Cambodian energy sector could move in by 2040, and we look forward to hearing your thoughts on this.

We’d like to invite you to join the conversation – are you available at 2pm on Tuesday, the 28th May?
