Event description

Description

Discover the research required to write historical fiction with Isolde Martyn author of Troubadour, Pamela Hart author of Letter from Italy, Amanda Hampson author of The French Perfumer, and children's historical fiction author Felicity Pullman lead by Jaye Ford.

Amanda Hampson is the best-selling author of The Olive Sisters. The French Perfumer is a drama of intrigue and love set against the background of the post WWII period in France.

Isolde Martyn has a History Honours degree from the University of Exeter, UK, with a specialisation in Yorkist England, a lifelong passion. She now divides her time between Sydney and the UK, and one of her delights is in being Vice-Chair of the Plantagenet Society of Australia.

Pamela Hart started writing when she was a children's scriptwriter for ABC Kids, and as Pamela Freeman, has written 17 books for children and teens. The story behind her grandfather’s service as an ANZAC at Gallipoli inspired her to write her first novel for adults, and her latest novel, Letter from Italy, is also set in WW1.

Felicity Pulman writes a variety of historical stories for children, including Ghost Boy, a time slip adventure for younger readers about the Sydney Quarantine Station, and the Janna Mysteries series, set in medieval England.

A History Illuminated event presented by Lake Mac Libraries and Hunter Writers Centre.
