Description

SOLD OUT | WAITLIST AVAILABLE

In this small-group intensive workshop series, we wil explore together what it means to fully show up in our lives - to be brave, to lean into vulnerability, and to rumble with the challenges that come with living authentically, and with integrity.

Each of the sessions is based on the latest scientific research into wellbeing, and involves training in evidence-based wellbeing practices.

The workshop consists of four two-hour sessions, which are held on successive Thursdays (June 8, 15, 22 and 29) from 6:15-8:30.

The workshop consists of interactive sessions, each of which contains an element of mindfulness. There will be space for dialogue, meditations, and other evidence-based practices that will assist the participants in developing the courage to simply be themselves. The following topics will be addressed:

  • Session 1: Vulnerability. This session draws on the work of Dr Brene Brown of the Univerisity of Houston. We will speak honestly about our resistance to vulnerability and discover that vulnerability is not a weakness but in fact our greatest measure of courage, and that our struggles makes us who we are.
  • Session 2: Perfectionism. This session draws additionally on the work of Harvard's Tal Ben-Shahar. We will disucss how we get stuck in self-destructive and addictive patterns of perfectionism, and how we can remove this powerful internal obstacle to finding happiness.
  • Session 3: Self-compassion. This sessions draws on the research of the University of Texas' Kristen Neff. We will learn the three components of self-compassion, why you deserve to practice it with yourself, and why self-compassion is fundamental to our wellbeing and life satisfaction.
  • Session 4: Forgiveness. This session draws a on the work of Stanford's Fred Luskin and Nobel Laureate Desmond Tutu. We will examine deeply the nature of forgiveness and the necessary steps to achieve it.

Dealing with the sessions in this sequence is important: in the sessions we successively identify some of the most common obstacles to living an authentic life, and devlop antidote practices of self-compassion and forgiveness which allow us to live more freely and authentically, and with a more open heart.
