Event description

Description

A rare opportunity to hear an overview of the latest research, current understanding and best practices for developmental malformations of the corpus callosum. Presenting 3 global leaders in corpus callosum research, IRC5 members, Professor Linda Richards (QBI, Brisbane), A/Professor Paul Lockhart (MCRI, Melbourne) and Dr Lynn Paul (Caltech, California). These world renowned scientists will present the latest research findings on aspects of connectivity, genetics and psychosocial impacts of corpus callosum disorders.

The IRC5 is composed of scientists and clinicians around the world with a shared mission. The mission is to discover the causes, consequences, and effective interventions for disorders of the corpus callosum (DCC) and associated disorders of cerebral connectivity.

Professor Linda Richards is a principal research fellow and deputy director of the Queensland Brain Institute where she heads a laboratory investigating all aspects in the development of the corpus callosum.
A/Professor Paul Lockhart leads a team at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute with expertise in molecular genetics and cell biology and is working to understand the pathogenesis of neurogenetic disease
Dr Lynn Paul is a senior research scientist at California Institute of Technology, where she is directing a research program studying brain-structure, cognition and social processing in agenesis of the corpus callosum

Come along and hear their cutting edge presentations on the latest developments in corpus callosum research from scientific, neuropsychosocial and neurogenetic perspectives.

Fee includes light refreshments. The venue is fully accessible.
