Event description

Description

After the success of their first sold out Folk Showcase earlier this year, Co-Ground invites fans of intimate live music back to the Wesley Anne in August for a second captivating and purposeful show, featuring four of Melbourne's most loved contemporary folk artists - Amistat, Ariela Jacobs, Mia Wray and Spiritus.

All funds from the night will go towards a new school library and classroom project in the village of Sara in Vanuatu - one of Co-Ground's education and development projects in the Asia Pacific.

There is a very limited number of tickets, so be sure to get in quickly to avoid disappointment.

Amistat
Originating from Europe, twins Josef and Jan developed their sound in Melbourne, Australia, having packed their rucksacks and relocating in 2012 to dive headfirst into the Bourke Street busking scene. Since then, they have worked their way into Australian audiences hearts with their soaring harmonies and clever folk ballads. The AMISTAT experience boasts intimate performances, live energy, cheeky humour and honest emotional sentiments.

Ariela Jacobs
Ariela Jacobs is a singer-songwriter from Melbourne. Still relatively new to the scene, you may recognise Ariela from her viral collaborations with Goldroom and newcomer ALIUS. Her new EP 'Say So' will be out later this year, with the teaser track 'Leave Your Light On' already garnering a huge online following.

Mia Wray Music
Raised on the Sunshine Coast, singer/songwriter, Mia Wray, sings with soul and passion, creating a unique sound that compels you to listen. There’s tension and controlled power within her song writing and performances infusing soft melodic tunes with a subtle soulful sound.

Spiritus
Spiritus are an Indie/Roots Singer-Songwriting trio performing meaningful, intimate and raw original songs. The Chilean / Australian trio express their songs to you with honesty and passion in a combination of acoustic and electric guitar, violin, and soulful 3-part vocal harmonies.
