Running off the back of our wet (no - SERIOUSLY wet, and muddy) and wildly fun Spit in the Hills comp we are so excited to host and organise the 1st annual Chidlow BBQ Festival event for all lovers of BBQ and Competition!

If you were lucky enough to be with us at the Spit in the Hills event that was hosted in May then welcome back!
If not - you've got the chance to join in the fun in September!

More teams, more comp meats, more KCBS reps (with some special classes going on - but more on that later) more BBQ's, more street vendors, more bands - it has to equal more fun - right! OH! and did we mention - MORE PRIZE MONEY!

Get your mates together, polish off your smokers, start trying that new rub recipe and register BEFORE the 31st of July to take advantage of our early bird special registration fee!

KCBS Comp meats - Chicken, Pork Ribs, Pork, Beef Brisket plus an ancillary handmade Sausage category - the win is yours for the taking! Can't wait to see you there!

FAQs

When can we arrive and set up?

Anytime from noon Friday the 14th of September. Meat Inspection rolls out 8 am Saturday.

What meats are in the comp?

Your choice of any or all of the following KCBS Competition meats: Pork - Chicken - Pork Ribs - Brisket

Any ancilliaries?

Yes indeed there is. Compete in our Sizzling Sausages contest for the title of Grand Sausage Champion! Details are on page 6 of the Contestant Info Pack or email events@thechidlowtavern.com.au for more info.

When does judging start?

Sunday the 16th of September at 11.30 am for the ancillary catergory. 12 Noon for KCBS Contest meats.

How much is the registration fee?

Before the July 31st 2018 - $250 + GST
From the 1st of August onwards - $300 + GST

Hey! Why the change in price?

Late registrations can make things stressful. We want to avoid that to make the event as amazing as we can for you guys. Get in early, lock in your spot at the comp and save $50!

When do regisistration close?

Friday the 24th of August 2018.

How much is the prize pool exactly?

$13,750 in cash, and $925 in other prizes That'll buy a few burgers for the BBQ!

What happens next?

A couple of things!

1) - You will receive an email from Event Brite with a tax invoice receipt for your payment

2) - You will receive an email from events@thechidlowtavern.com.au asking you to fill in all of the details regarding your BBQ Team registration. I.e. Team Name, What meat categories you are entering into, what sausage casing size you will need, arrival time, and how many nights you will be camping onsite at the tavern. That information is due back to the events email asap.
